Yogastrology®

Yogastrology® is a blending of what traditionally in India were the sister sciences of yoga and astrology, developed in the West by Diane Booth Gilliam, with whom I received my certification through the Yogastrology Institute in 2024. This connection between the human microcosm and the cosmic macrocosm is not “New Age.” In fact, while it appears in the ancient text of Astronomica by Marcus Manilius from the first century BCE, the correlation between the human body and the cosmos predates Manilius by perhaps 2,000 years in Babylonia.

These private or group classes blend together the yoga practice with what is currently reflected in the cosmos and mindfully embodies those cosmic waves as part of the practice. By honoring those parts of the body that are being activated by the astrological weather, we bring ourselves more into alignment with the natural world.

Offerings

Private individual and group classes are available, as are workshops and series.

Pricing

At the studio: $100/hour for 1 person | $5 each additional to a maximum of $150

Offsite: (within 10 miles of downtown Roanoke): $125/hour for 1 person | $5 each additional to a maximum of $175.

Offsite: (11-50 miles of downtown Roanoke): $175/hour, regardless of group size.
